Photon Counting Technology
Dual energy technology
Every Direct Conversion dual energy detector delivers high energy, low energy and total energy information in every scan.
Materials which absorb low energy are different to materials which absorb high energy. Separating such materials is easy with high speed dual energy photon counting technology.
Identifying difficult-to-detect foreign body contaminants requires material differentiation. Photon counting technology can do this because every single photon is measured against an energy threshold.
That means more information in the same timeframe. A single, fast, dual energy long-lifetime detector enabling rapid analysis of many materials without losing information.
Most conventional detectors only show total energy content. Conventional X-ray systems today require 2 x detectors to achieve dual energy. 2 x detectors is twice the maintenance, twice the potential point of failure.
Fast Throughput
Speed is a critical factor
Scanning speeds of 2m/sec.
Don’t make trade offs between quality and yield, or speed and resolution until you know what’s possible with ultra high speed X-ray imaging.
We are leading the field in super fast scanning detectors which do not compromise on image quality.
Direct Conversion photon counting X-ray detectors operate at frame rates of 2000+fps.
Plus rapid readout via 1G or 10G ethernet connection.
Improve efficiency through an X-ray scanning solution which matches conveyor belt speed without impacting image quality.
Precision
Accuracy improves yield and customer safety
Improve yield through more precise cutting and filleting.
Reduce waste through more information on material consistency and composition, such as fat content in meat, fine bones in fish.
Improve consumer safety through better defect inspection in food and packaging.
Even very difficult challenges such as glass shards in glass bottles, or salt content in meat are being addressed through the precision of dual energy photon counting technology.
Every Photon counts.
Modular
Flexible options
Our detectors are modular in design.
From the smallest components everything is built for easy configuration.
That means flexible options which can increase efficiency, such as a wider conveyor belt with a longer detector to deliver higher throughput.
Our detectors have multiple readout options including camera link and 1G/10G ethernet, and multiple imaging options such as in-built line scanning as well as area imaging.
Most of our detectors can operate in single or dual energy mode.
With all this flexibility there are many ways to achieve an optimal implementation suitable even for a customised conveyor belt or a workflow for inline and offline imaging.
Benefits
Return on investment
Many customers tell us that their return on investment was faster than expected. Some achieved ROI in under 12 months, just by increased efficiency.
These are customers who identified areas of weakness where a technological solution could have a real impact. Then they talked to us. Together we worked out the solution to achieve their goals.
